Xiaomi has started sending out media invites for a launch event on April 25, where it is widely expected to launch the Mi 6X smartphone. Like last year, we might see the Mi 6X come to India rebranded as the Mi A2. With less than two weeks to the event, a massive leak gives us a glimpse at the upcoming smartphone’s specifications and features.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X aka Mi A2 has already been spotted on TENAA, but the new leak reveals more specifications and features. This leak, courtesy of XDA-Developers, confirms that the Mi 6X is indeed in the pipeline. It also confirms that the M1804D2SC model spotted on TENAA is the Mi 6X, where the ‘C’ stands for China. Here’s a look at the smartphone’s expected specifications.
The Mi 6X is expected to flaunt a 5.99-inch LCD display with full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 SoC clocked at 2GHz. There are likely to be three variants – 32GB storage with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage with 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage with 6GB RAM.
Photography was among the highlights of last year’s Mi A1, and this year will be no different. The Mi 6X too will boast a dual-camera setup. This setup is likely to include a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 sensor with f/1.8 aperture paired with a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.8 aperture.

Though the camera will allow for portrait mode, the leak mentions there won’t be optical zoom. There will be support for 4K video recording @30fps. For selfies, there will reportedly be a 20-megapixel snapper up front with Sony IMX376 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and a front-facing flash.
On the software front, the Mi 6X is said to run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. If launched as the rebranded Mi A2 in India, the smartphone will run stock Android, as it will be a part of Google’s Android One program.
