We are just two days away from the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 6X. The smartphone is headed for its China launch on April 25 and ahead of the unveiling, a lot of features and specifications have been either leaked or teased from the company itself. In the latest, the company has reportedly teased the smartphone to come with built-in AI smart assistant.
To recall, the company recently introduced its Xiao Ai voice assistant in China. The AI-based assistant works similar to Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri, and Samsung’s Bixby. It ships with Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S out-of-the-box. It was earlier reported that the assistant will be gradually extended to other Xiaomi phones as well. Now, it seems the next smartphone to feature the assistant will be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6X.
Earlier today, the retail box of the Mi 6X was spotted online, revealing some of its specifications. Based on that, the Mi 6X will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and will ditch the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone is long rumored to boast dual-camera setup and feature the new-age 18:9 display.

If the past rumors are anything to go by, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will be equipped with a 5.99-inch display with a Full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, there could be choice of 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM with 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage. A TENAA listing indicated two variants of the smartphone – 4GB RAM +64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. It remains to be seen how many variants are actually announced.
In the photography department, the Mi 6X is expected to pack a dual-camera module at the back with a 20-megapixel primary sensor. There are no details available on the secondary sensor. Up front, there is expected to be a 20-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling.

It is expected to be fueled by a 3,000mAh battery. On the software front, the Mi 6X is likely to run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with the latest MIUI running atop. The smartphone is speculated to be launched with the Mi A2 moniker in markets outside China. It is likely to continue with Android One program.
Lastly, the Mi 6X is likely to be available in five color choices of Cherry Powder, Red Flame, Sand Gold, Glacier Blue and Black. It is expected to be priced at 1,499 CNY which translates to approximately Rs 15,800.
