Xiaomi Mi 6X, the update to last year’s Mi 5X is expected to arrive sometime in the second half of 2018. In India and few other markets, the smartphone will likely retail as Mi A2. While the smartphone has been part of few leaks in the past and has also passed through TENAA certification confirming some of the key features, we now have more details about the upcoming smartphone.
The TENAA certification revealed that Mi 6X will be powered by an octa-core processor without detailing the model. A leak claimed that Xiaomi will use Snapdragon 626 or Snapdragon 636 for Mi 6X but it now seems that the Chinese smartphone will go with MediaTek Helio instead. The latest rumor claims that Mi 6X will be powered by Helio P60, which is an octa-core SoC with four high-power Cortex A72 cores. The processor could match Snapdragon 835 but its Mali-G72 MP3 GPU fails to beat the Adreno GPU.
Considering that Mi 6X will be a mid-ranger, the Helio P60 should be an effective option for the smartphone. There are also details on the camera setup on the Mi 6X or Mi A2. The Mi 6X is expected to use the same updated rear camera setup seen on the Redmi Note 5 Pro. A new report suggests the primary sensor on the dual rear camera system of Mi 6X will use Sony IMX486, a 12-megapixel sensor with 1.25 micron pixel size. It will be paired with a higher resolution IMX376, a 20-megapixel secondary sensor with 1 micron pixel size. The selfie shooter with IMX376 as well.
