Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is likely to start accepting pre-orders for its upcoming flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 7 from May 27, 2018. This comes after a number of leaks and rumors pointing out that the company may launch Mi 7 on May 23. The pre-order date was spotted in a photo of a display that was kept outside a “China Mobile” store in China. This photo was first spotted by Chinese website IT Home and the website did note that it can’t confirm the accuracy of the information given in the image.
This new information about pre-orders starting from May 27 lines up with the earlier rumors about May 23 as the launch date. As reported previously, Xiaomi Mi 7 is not the only device that the company is planning to launch at its rumored launch event. It may launch its Mi Band 3 and a special eighth-anniversary smartphone at the event alongside the Mi 7. Xiaomi has not issued any official statement about the Mi 7 at the time of writing.

The eighth-anniversary edition device from Xiaomi is expected to be the highlight of the event. The report also added that this device will the be the first Android-powered device to offer 3D facial recognition.
This report comes hours after a Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) certificate leaked Xiaomi’s device lineup that it is planning to launch in Europe in the future.
As part of the leak, Xiaomi is planning to launch it’s Mi 7 Lite in the European market. It is unclear if the company will launch the Lite version of its flagship at the launch event of it will directly launch it in the European market and others.
