Xiaomi is reportedly closing in to launch its flagship smartphones, the Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus in China by the end of this month. The event may also see the launch of the Mi Band 3 fitness band with a new design, touchscreen and gesture control support. While we have come across speculated specifications and features before, the latest leak shows off purported live photos of the Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus smartphones.
Spotted on Weibo by GizmoChina, in the first photo, we can see the back of the devices. The vertical dual camera module can be seen on the top left, and the LED flash is placed between the two camera modules. And while rumors hinted that the Mi 7 will come with an under-display, the leaked photo does show off a circular fingerprint sensor at the back. This means that we may not see the under-display fingerprint scanning tech on the smartphone.
The second image shows off the front of the smartphone with a full view display, and a notch at the top. Now, while other Android OEMs have embraced the notch, the cutout is smaller. However, in this case, the cutout is as big as we have seen on the iPhone X. This could be because the Mi 7 is speculated to feature complex set of sensors to enable 3D face scanning, whereas other Android smartphones with notch displays only house the front camera, ambient light sensor and the earpiece.

Also, while the side bezels are thin, the bottom bezel looks slightly thick. Lastly, the third photo is of the about page, which shows off codename dipper, which was earlier reported to be a codename for the Mi 7. The photo also reveals that the smartphone is running on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.8.5 beta skin on top.
The page also reveals that the smartphone features 6GB of RAM, 128GB storage and is powered by a 2.8GHz octa-core SoC, which corroborates with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845.
Rest of the rumored features include dual-rear camera setup (20-megapixel + 12-megapixel), 20-megapixel selfie camera, and a 3,500mAh battery with support for 7.5W wireless charging. There is no word on the launch date yet, but rumors hint at May 23 launch.
