Red is the new cool smartphone color now. After iPhone 7 introduced the red edition last year, followed by the likes of Oppo F3 and Infinix Zero 5, Xiaomi has now apparently announced a red edition for the Mi A1 smartphone. The special edition was first launched in Indonesia a couple of days ago.
The news of the Mi A1 Red edition was announced by Xiaomi in an official email. The company has announced that the new edition will go on sale on December 20 in India, on Flipkart and mi.com. It will be priced at Rs 13,999.
Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched in September this year, and was the first of the company’s smartphone to be a part of Google’s Android One initiative. In other words, the smartphone runs on stock Android Nougat OS, and will soon be updated to Android Oreo. The Mi A1 is a rebranded version of company’s Mi 5X smartphone available in China, and the company had recently launched a red variant of Mi 5X in its home market.
