Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has launched today in China. Prior to the launch, the phone has gained a lot of traction on the internet. The Mi Max series from Xiaomi is said to offer big screen smartphones at an affordable price point. It is launched in China in two variants priced at RMB 1,699 (approximately Rs 17,300) and RMB 1,999 (approximately Rs 20,400). At that price, the Mi Max 3 offers some notable features. Here are some its key highlights.
Immersive media screen
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features a much bigger 6.9-inch display which supports a Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, with an aspect ratio of 18:9. If that’s not more than enough to offer an immersive experience, Xiaomi has further equipped the IPS display with 1500:1 contrast ratio and 84% NTSC color gamut. This should allow it to offer a natural looking picture with bright colors.
To further support the big screen, Xiaomi Mi Max 3 comes with a massive 5,500mAh battery underneath its sleek design. With so much power, the smartphone should easily be able to offer a battery life of at least two days on moderate usage. Not just that, the battery performance is backed by Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging, which is said to offer 5 hours worth of battery life after 5 minutes of fast charging.
The Mi Max 3 offers a dual-rear camera setup of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The primary lens has an aperture of f/1.9 and the sensor also supports Dual PD focus. At the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera which features an aperture of f/2.0 and comes equipped with a soft LED flash for taking selfies at night. Both cameras are backed by AI features that can detect up to 206 different scenes and adjust settings accordingly.
The Mi Max 3 comes armed with a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 SoC, running alongside Adreno 509 GPU. Being a mid-range chipset, it is focused on preserving battery life, while offering a premium media performance. There are two storage and RAM configurations available – 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB of RAM with 128GB storage. Besides that, the Mi Max 3 also offers the latest of connectivity options such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C port.
