Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, highly-anticipated smartphone has currently hit mass production, and it has been confirmed by CEO Lei Jun. This comes in almost a week ahead of the scheduled September 11 launch of the smartphone in Beijing, China. The company CEO has been teasing the second-generation flagship smartphone for a while to keep up the hype.
CEO Jun was prompt enough to even share the retail box of the Mi MIX 2 today on his Weibo profile. According to the image posted by Jun, the Mi MIX 2 will come packaged in an all black sleek retail box with notes engraved in golden tone. The Mi MIX 2 will be the successor to the company’s Mi MIX smartphone that was launched last year. The first-generation bezel-less smartphone from Xiaomi was introduced as a concept phone, which eventually turned out to be a trendsetter with 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Xiaomi has earlier confirmed that the Mi MIX successor will boast of 93 percent screen-to-body ratio that implies the smartphone will bear even fewer bezels than last years model. In line with the company’s claims, the leaked images of the Mi MIX 2 so far also show the smartphone carrying thin edges and thinner bottom chin than the predecessor. While Xiaomi in its promotional campaign is boasting of the smartphone having no bezels at all. The Mi MIX 2 is expected to come with a 6.4-inch QHD+ display. Another set of images leaked earlier have tipped that the Mi MIX 2 will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 SoC. It is worth mentioning that most of the present high-end premium smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC. If indeed Mi MIX 2 comes with Qualcomm’s next flagship chipset, it will be the first one to do so. Additionally, reports point that the Mi MIX 2 will come with 256GB storage, 20-megapixel primary camera, 4,000mAh battery and will run on Android 8.0 Oreo OS.
