We are less than an hour away from Xiaomi’s launch event in China where it will be unveiling the much-rumored Mi MIX 2s. That however hasn’t stopped the last minute leaks. The upcoming smartphone has been spotted in an alleged hands-on video that leaves very little to the imagination.
The hands-on video was posted on Weibo (spotted by Slashleaks), and it shows the front and back of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s. The first thing that you notice is that the new smartphone doesn’t look all that different from last year’s Mi MIX 2. At least from the front.
The front side is dominated by the display with narrow bezels at the top and bottom. Again the selfie camera is located at the bottom bezel. The earpiece is placed at the top bezel. The big difference is at the back, which now houses a vertically aligned dual-camera setup. The fingerprint sensor continues to be at the center. Being a last minute leak, we must admit that this does look like the real deal.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s expected specifications, features
We have already collated all the rumors doing the rounds in the run up to today’s event. The Mi MIX 2s is expected to feature a 5.99-inch full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 SoC.
The smartphone will feature 6GB of RAM along with 128GB internal storage. There are also rumors of a variant featuring 8GB of RAM, and 256GB storage. The device will be backed by a 3,400mAh battery.
For photography, the Mi MIX 2s will feature a dual-camera setup at the back with AI-powered scene selection capabilities. It will also be able to 4K videos at 60fps, and slow-motion videos at 480fps. On the software front, the Mi MIX 2s is likely to run MIUI 9-based on Android Oreo.
While we await Xiaomi’s official announcement, recent reports have revealed an expected price. The Mi MIX 2s could be priced around RMB 4,000 (approximately Rs 40,000).
