Xiaomi is set to host an event in China on March 27, where it will be taking the wraps off the much-rumored Mi MIX 2s. With just over two weeks to go for the event, a set of alleged live photos of the upcoming smartphone has surfaced online. These photos show the front and back of the device, leaving very little to the imagination.
The smartphone seen in the leaked photos shared on Weibo (spotted by Slashleaks), are pretty much in line with what has leaked before. Up front, the bezels around the screen are quite slim. Unlike some reports though, there is no notch on the top-right corner. Instead the selfie camera and sensors are expected to be placed in the bottom bezel.
At the back, the device is seen sporting a vertically aligned dual-camera setup. The camera module is placed at the top-left corner with the LED flash placed between the two lenses. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the center, and in essence, puts an end to the speculations about an under-display sensor.
In the weeks leading to the March 27 launch event, there have been quite a few contradicting leaks around what the Mi MIX 2s could look. In addition to what was leaked today, some renders also hint at a truly bezel-less design with just a small notch at the top-right corner. With such contradictions, we would advise you to take the latest leak with the proverbial pinch of salt.
Based on what we have come across so far, the Mi MIX 2s is shaping up to be a device with top-of-the-line specifications and features. Xiaomi has already confirmed that the upcoming device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC, and will also boast wireless charging capabilities. Alleged benchmark scores for the device rival some of the flagship Android devices out there.
As per leaks, the Mi MIX 2s is expected to feature a 6.01-inch OLED display, up to 8GB of RAM, 256GB internal storage, and 4,000mAh battery. Some reports also claim that the device will support Google’s ARCore.
