Joining the league of the flagships of 2018 that will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845, is allegedly the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s. According to a new AnTuTu leak, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s, which is codenamed ‘Polaris’, show some massive scores and is believed to run the latest chipset by Qualcomm.
Do make note, that in the leak we can see the latest version of AnTuTu being used, and so these results are not comparable with older versions. For perspective, a Huawei Mate 10 Pro (Kirin 970) scores around 218,000 on the same version. Also, despite this screenshot acting like a proof, it is still no confirmation that this is indeed the Mi Mix 2S – benchmarks are easy to spoof.
However, this is not the first time someone has speculated the smartphone running the Snapdragon 845. Last month a report by a Chinese blog also claimed that Xiaomi could possibly unveil the Mi MIX 2s at next month’s Mobile World Congress (MWC 2018) in Barcelona, Spain, powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC, and upgraded cameras.
Snapdragon 845 SoC is heavily focused on camera and AI. According to Qualcomm, the new chip offers 30 percent better performance overall, while AI processing has been improved by an astounding 300 percent. It is also said to further improve the battery output of a given device.
From what we have gathered from the rumors so far, the Mi MIX 2s will be equipped with the new Sony IMX363 sensor and will have larger individual pixels, faster dual-pixel auto-focusing and better night-time shooting capabilities.
In terms of design, the Mi MIX 2s is likely to borrow the ‘notch’ element from the Apple iPhone X. It is also expected that the phone will hop on the current industry trend and include some type of facial recognition technology for biometric authentication. Past leaks claim that the Mi MIX 2s will cost around RMB 4,000 (approximately Rs 40,000) when launched.
