After announcing strategic partnership with The Viral Fever to bring content to Mi TV platform, Xiaomi has today announced yet another strategic partnership with Hungama Music at a Mi Pop event in Mumbai. As a part of the partnership, Xiaomi has launched Mi Music app.
The Mi Music app supports over 13 indic languages, including Tamil, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, and Bhojpuri among others. Xiaomi revealed that it has seven million daily active users on its Mi Music app, which is a part of MIUI stock ROM. With today’s announcement, the app integrates Hungama Music, and its entire content catalogue of over 10 million tracks.
One of the interesting features of the app is that it comes with Dynamic Lyrics support. As the name suggests, this feature allows you to listen to music while the lyrics is scrolling on the screen. The app will be available starting today, and upcoming updates will bring support for features such as Music Videos, Personalized Recommendations, Themes, and more.
At the event, the company revealed that it has seen 500 percent growth in video consumption since 2017. Keeping that in mind, Xiaomi also announced Mi Video app with support for online streaming. The app offers over 500,000 videos to choose from. Content partners include SonyLIV, Voot, Hungama Play, Alt Balaji, Zee5, and more.
