Xiaomi has reportedly hiked the price of its Mi Power Bank 2i variants in India. The 10,000mAh variant was priced at Rs 799, but it will not cost Rs 899. The 20,000mAh variant, on the other hand, was priced at Rs 1,499, and will now cost Rs 1,599. The hike is just Rs 100, but there is no word on why the prices have been hiked.
The new price has been updated on Amazon India and Mi.com/in, Gadgets360 reports. “Due to the change in tax structure, we’ve had to marginally revise prices for our Mi Power Bank 2i series. This was done to ensure that Mi Power Bank 2i is still the high-quality product that buyers have come to expect from Xiaomi,” Xiaomi India spokesperson told the publication.
Launched in November last year, the power banks were exclusive to Mi Home stores and Mi.com, and the availability was later extended to e-commerce portals, Flipkart and Amazon India. Both variants of the Mi Power Bank 2i include Lithium Polymer (Li-Po) batteries and feature two USB ports, allowing you to charge two devices at the same time.

To manage the power efficiency of these power banks, Xiaomi has included Texas Instruments-powered smart control chips. Besides the capacity and pricing, there are some key difference between both the power banks. The 10,000mAh one is made from metallic double anodized aluminium material, and weighs 245grams. The 20,000mAh one, on the other hand, features a polycarbonate case, and weighs 358grams.
Both power banks are a part of PM Modi’s “Make In India” initiative, and feature holograms and security codes, making it easier for users to identify genuine Mi power banks, from other fake products in the market.
