Xiaomi Mi TV 4, the first TV offering from the Chinese company for the Indian market, will go on its second sale today. The Mi TV 4 will be available for purchase at 12PM via Mi.com and Flipkart. Ahead of the sale, Flipkart has already confirmed that it will have only limited stocks for the sale today.
The Mi TV 4 was launched last month alongside the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones. The smart TV offering is Xiaomi’s first foray into the television segment and it is replicating the business model around its smartphones here as well. The Chinese company has not revealed how many units it sold during the first sale, but it does come with a disruptive price.
Xiaomi is also expected to add new two new models to its Mi TV range tomorrow. Those planning to purchase Xiaomi’s Mi TV 4, it is advisable that they keep their account logged in on either Flipkart or Xiaomi’s own e-store. Xiaomi Mi TV 4 comes with a disruptive pricing and offers features that are usually found on more expensive models. The Mi TV 4 is billed as the world’s thinnest TV and it measures just 4.9mm at its thinnest edge. It uses a 55-inch 4K HDR frameless display for an immersive experience and the panel has a refresh rate of 60Hz and 178-degree viewing angle.
At the heart of Mi TV 4 is a quad-core Amlogic CPU with four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The TV comes with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It weighs around 17.2kg without the base and around 17.8Kg including the base. As we noted in our review, the TV does not offer strong audio due to its thin design. It comes with two 8W speakers along with support for Dolby audio.
In temrs of ports, the Mi TV 4 includes one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, three HDMI, one RJ-45 Ethernet port, one AV and S/PDIF ports. It also includes connectivity options like WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. The UI is based on Android TV and it unifies your content sources into an easily accessible tile interface.
With Mi TV 4, users can not only control the television with their phone but also screen mirror content from their mobile device.
