Xiaomi Redmi 1s announced in India, priced at Rs 6,999


As expected, Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 1s in India at the ongoing event in New Delhi. The entry-level smartphone is priced at Rs 6,999, but the company hasn’t mentioned when it will be available in the country. 

The Redmi 1s, is an entry-level smartphone featuring a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display and is powered by a 1.6GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core SoC, paired with Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Also included is 4GB of internal storage that can be further expanded using a microSD card slot.

The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 2,000mAh battery, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Xiaomi’s MIUI V5 on top.
