Xiaomi has increased the price of its Redmi 5A smartphone. The company made the announcement through a social media post saying the Redmi 5A will be available at its original price of Rs 5,999. The updated price will be applicable across mi.com, Flipkart, and the Mi Home retail stores.
It is to be noted that the Redmi 5A was launched at a subsidized price of Rs 4,999. Xiaomi had then claimed that it would go back to the original price after selling 5 million units of the smartphone. The latest price is, thus, also an indication of the company reaching the sales milestone. BGR India has reached out to the company to confirm the reports.
With the updated price, the Redmi 5A base model with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage will cost you Rs 5,999. The 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage model now costs Rs 6,999. The smartphone will be up for its next flash sale on March 15 at 12:00 PM on online portals. It is available in color choices of Dark Grey, Rose Gold, and Gold.
