Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A will again be available for buyers today. The affordable smartphone will be on sale via Xiaomi’s mi.com, and Flipkart. The sale kicks off at 12:00PM.

Buyers will be able to choose from two Xiaomi Redmi 5A variants. The base model with 16GB storage and 2GB RAM is priced at Rs 5,999. The top model with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM is priced at Rs 6,999.
Buyers will be able to avail a few offers on the purchase of the Redmi 5A. Xiaomi’s mi.com is offering Rs 500 cashback on Paytm, and free three-month subscription to Hungama Music. Flipkart, on the other hand, is offering an additional five percent discount if buyers use Axis Bank Buzz credit card. Reliance Jio is offering Rs 2,200 worth cashback in the form of vouchers, and up to 4.5TB of mobile data.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A specifications, features
As far as specifications are concerned, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A flaunts a 5-inch HD display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, and is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, and PDAF support. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and an IR blaster. For security, there’s a fingerprint sensor. On the software front, the device runs Android Nougat-based MIUI 9.
Last month, Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6A in China. As the name suggests, it is the successor to the Redmi 5A. There is however no word on when the company plans to bring the new smartphone to India. The Xiaomi Redmi 6A features a 5.45-inch HD+ 18:9 display, MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core chipset, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB expandable storage. The smartphone also comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a 3,000mAh battery. For security, the device ditches the fingerprint sensor in favor of face unlock.
