After launching the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A, Xiaomi is set to launch a third new smartphone on June 25. This smartphone is expected to be the Redmi 6 Pro, and it is said to be the first Xiaomi Redmi smartphone with a notch. But if you are no fan of the notch, reports claim that there will be an option to disable it.
A teaser on Weibo (spotted by Playfuldroid) teases a software button on the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, which can be used to hide the notch. In essence, the notification bar on either sides of the notch will become black so you won’t be able to see the notch. This solution has been on recent smartphones as well, and the idea is to keep both sets of users happy – those who like the notch, and those who don’t.
In addition to the teaser, a bunch of real-life photos of the Redmi 6 Pro has surfaced online showing the device from all possible angles. Xiaomi itself has also released gorgeous photos of a Lake Blue variant ahead of the launch, Gizmochina reports. The Redmi 6 Pro is expected to be launched in a bunch of colors, including Rose Gold, Sand Gold, Lake Blue, Black, and Flame Red.
The photos confirm the full-screen notch design, triple card slot (two nano SIMs+one microSD), as well as the dual-camera setup at the back. The front is dominated by the screen with slim bezels on the side, and quite a generous chin at the bottom. At the back are the camera module, a fingerprint sensor, and the Mi logo. At the bottom are the speaker grille, and micro-USB port for charging. Up top are the 3.5mm audio jack, IR blaster, and the mic.
