Over the weekend, Xiaomi announced a new color variant of its highest selling smartphone, the Redmi Note 4. The new Lake Blue color variant will be available for purchase via company’s official website mi.com and Flipkart starting 12:00PM today. Apart from online stores, the new color variant will also be available at Mi Home stores and Mi Preferred Partner stores.
The “Lake Blue” edition of the Redmi Note 4 is available for the 4GB RAM plus 64GB storage variant priced at Rs 12,999. Xiaomi has announced that a part of the proceeds from the sale of Redmi note 4 Lake Blue edition will go towards the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The rest of the design and hardware specifications of the phone remain the same, with color being the only change.
Xiaomi recently announced that the company has sold over 25 million smartphones in India. In the current portfolio, the Redmi Note 4 is the top selling smartphone. Xiaomi India Head Manu Kumar Jain also announced last month that the Redmi Note 4 has been the most sold smartphone in India for two consecutive quarters. According to the latest numbers, the company has sold a total of 5 million units of the smartphone. However, earlier this year, Manu Jain said that they aim to sell 7 million units of the Redmi Note 4 by the year end. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was launched in May this year and is the successor to last year’s Redmi Note 3. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full-HD IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is powered by a 4,100mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the device supports dual-SIM, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. In terms of optics, the main camera on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is a 13-megapixel shooter, while the front camera is of 5-megapixel resolution.
