Xiaomi has quietly launched a new color variant for its Redmi Note 5 smartphone. This variant has been launched in China, but is likely to come to other countries too.
The new color variant for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is called ‘Flame Red’. It joins the other color variants that include Rose Gold, gold, black, and Magic Blue. The color variant was unveiled via a post on Weibo (spotted by Playfuldroid).
The Redmi Note 5 Flame Red variant is priced at RMB 1,399 (Rs 14,500 approximately), and it is available with 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM. The price tag is RMB 1,000 higher than the standard Redmi Note 5 variant featuring 64GB storage, and 4GB of RAM. Sales in China of the Redmi Note 5 Flame Red variant kicks off in China today. The rest of the specifications and features remain the same.

The Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 5 was launched as the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. It features a 5.99-inch full HD+ (2160×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset. The internal memory is also expandable using a microSD card.

For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a vertically aligned dual-camera setup (12-megapixel+5-megapixel) at the back, and a 20-megapixel selfie camera. For security, there’s a fingerprint sensor as well as the option for face unlock. Making sure everything ticks is a 4,000mAh battery. On the software front, the dual-SIM smartphone runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 9.
