Xiaomi has launched another variant of the Redmi Note 5 smartphone in China, which is referred as the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. The variant in China has similar specifications as Indian unit, except minor changes in the camera department. Now the company has introduced another 6GB RAM model with 128GB of storage.
The new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 aka Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro variant with 6GB RAM+128GB storage is priced at RMB 1,699 (approximately Rs 17,000). The new variant by Xiaomi will be up for sale in China from July 27. There is however no word on when this variant will come to India.
The difference in Chinese Redmi Note 5 is that it carries a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture camera with 1.4μm pixel size, dual core speed focus with 5-megapixel secondary camera, and a 13-megapixel front camera.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro features and specifications
In India, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, featuring an Adreno 506 GPU. Alongside the two RAM options, the phone comes with a 64GB internal storage, which can further be expanded by 128GB via a microSD card. On top of everything, it features a 5.99-inch full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) display, with a tall aspect ratio of 18:9.
In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a dual-camera setup at the back, with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The camera setup is vertically aligned and comes with a portrait mode. Up front, the smartphone features a 20-megapixel camera with LED flash and an f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, micro-USB and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone is available in four colors in India – Black, Gold, Rose Gold, Lake Blue.
