After the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is also getting its first official build of the LineageOS 15.1. It is currently available for downloaded on the official website. Users who want to install the OS will first have to install a TWRP recovery to flash LineageOS 15.1 on their smartphone. The instructions and download link for the same are available on XDA Forum.
LineageOS is one of the most popular open source operating systems available for smartphones. It has picked up the mantle after CyanogenMod, which shut down in 2016. According to XDA Forum, LineageOS offers plenty of features on the Redmi Note 5 Pro, while still carrying minimum amount of bloatware. It serves as a good alternate for people who do not like experience Xiaomi’s MIUI has to offer.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display offering a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels, and taller 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with either 4GB or 6GB RAM with 64GB standard storage. The Redmi Note 5 Pro also comes with dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel image sensors. Up front, there is a 20-megapixel selfie camera, which is equipped with an LED flash.

Under the hood is a 4,000mAh battery, and there is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone was originally running on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat, but the company has rolled put the Android 8.0 Oreo version as well. It is priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 16,999 for the 4GB and 6GB variant respectively.
