The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 comes in two variants, one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, which is priced at Rs 8,999, and the other is a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model, is priced at Rs 10,999. The Redmi Y1 Lite, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 6,999, and comes in a single variant.
Those planning on buying either of the two smartphones can take advantage of a bunch of offers. These include up to 280GB of 4G data for new Idea Cellular users, and free 12-month subscription of Hungama Music.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite specifications and features
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite both sport a 5.5-inch HD display. However, they differ with what powers them underhood. While the Redmi Y1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset, the Redmi Y1 Lite comes with a Snapdragon 425 quad-core SoC.
For photography, the Redmi Y1 sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with flash, and a 16-megapixel camera on the front. Whereas, the Redmi Y1 Lite sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF support, and a 5-megapixel snapper up front.
Both smartphones come with similar connectivity options like dual-SIM support, 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The smartphones also feature a rear fingerprint sensor. Both devices are fueled by a 3,080mAh battery, and run Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top.
