Xiaomi is hosting a launch event in India on June 7, where it is expected to launch the Redmi Y2 smartphone. It’s been widely reported that the Redmi Y2 will essentially be a rebranded version of the Redmi S2, which launched in China earlier this year. Now, a tipster has revealed what the upcoming smartphone could be priced at.
As per an alleged tipster, Xiaomi is expected to launch the Redmi Y2 in two variants. The base variant will feature 32GB storage and 3GB of RAM, while the top variant is said to feature 64GB storage, and 4GB of RAM. As per the tipster, the two variants are likely to be priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively. The tipster further claims that buyers will be able to choose from three color options – dark grey, gold, and rose gold. We would however advise strong caution, and ask our readers to take it with the proverbial pinch of salt.

The Redmi Y2, as the name suggests, will be the successor to last year’s Xiaomi Redmi Y1. As is the USP of this series, the focus again will be on the smartphone’s selfie clicking abilities. A recent teaser also hinted that the upcoming Redmi Y2 will be exclusively available via Amazon India.
