Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India. The company’s India head Manu Kumar Jain has taken to Twitter to tease the smartphone. He says that it will not only be the ‘best selfie smartphone’, but that it will also belong to a completely new series.

If we were to hazard a guess, the upcoming device could be the Xiaomi Mi Note 3. The smartphone was launched in China last month, alongside the Mi MIX 2. It essentially fulfils both the teased criteria. Firstly, there’s a 16-megapixel camera for selfie lovers. But the true talking point is how the camera uses artificial intelligence to offer best results. The AI-powered real-time processing helps smoothen your skin, and enhance facial features to help you look best.
Secondly, Xiaomi’s Mi Note series has yet to make its debut in India. Ever since the launch of the Mi Note back in 2015, not a single device from the series has made it to our shores. As is the case with this series, the Mi Note 3 will be placed in the mid-premium price range. DON’T MISS: Mi MIX 2 India launch proves that Xiaomi is more than just a budget smartphone maker
In China, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 was launched in three variants. The base variant with 64GB storage is priced at RMB 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,500), while the 128GB variant is priced at RMB 2,899 (approximately Rs 28,500). The third variant came with a glossy body, and is priced at RMB 2,999 (approximately Rs 29,400).
