As the company has been teasing for almost a week now, Xiaomi is today launching a new Mi TV series. The event is scheduled to kick off at 3:00PM IST and you can watch the live stream online here. You could also head to Xiaomi’s Facebook page or it’s Twitter page for live update.
Under the hashtag #SwitchToSmart, the company has been dropping a bunch of hints about what to expect from the TV. It will be a smart TV, that’s for sure. Xiaomi’s custom built Patchwall interface is also expected on it.
Without directly referring to the Mi TV lineup, all these teaser posts have made it evident that the ‘smarter, slimmer and sleeker’ device is nothing else but a possible variant of the Mi TV 4. You can expect Mi TV 4A or the Mi TV 4C.
Since this series has already been out in China, if in fact the Mi TV 4A is launched today, then from what we know, it will comes in three screen sizes of 65-inch, 55-inch, and 49-inch. The Mi TV 4C, on the other hand, is available in two options – 43-inch and 55-inch.
The Mi TV 4A range starts at CNY 1,099 (approximately Rs 11,300) in Xiaomi’s home market, whereas the Mi TV 4C range starts at CNY 1,849 (approximately Rs 19,000). Reportedly, the Mi TV 4A range comes with AI-based speech recognition, quad-core processor, Wi-Fi connectivity, USB, ethernet ports, and Android-based Patchwall interface.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 4C features a quad-core Amlogic T962 64-bit processor, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, Dolby, DTS Audio, HDR 10 support, and a blue light-reducing mode. An add-on Mi Bluetooth Remote Control brings Speech Recognition, Mi Touch, and Infrared features to the range.
While this is the most likely anticipation made from Xiaomi’s teasers, however, the official work is just hours away, and that’s only when we can know what’s really cookin’. Stay tuned for more updates on this space.
