Xiaomi will be selling the fourth batch of the Mi 3 smartphones on Flipkart on August 12, and just Barra promised yesterday, this time around there will be 20,000 Mi 3 units up for grabs. The company revealed that over 75,000 buyers had registered in less than a day since registrations began. Buyers will be able to register till midnight August 11.
Buyers are finding it increasingly difficult to get their hands on a Mi 3 on the day of sale. After the first sale lasted for about 40 minutes, the next two sales have wrapped up in five seconds and two seconds respectively. These flash sales have frustrated buyers to no end, and Xiaomi’s Hugo Barra had to apologize for it. Barra admitted that the company underestimated the demand for Mi 3 in India.
The Xiaomi Mi 3, which is priced at Rs 13,999 boasts features that are available in smartphones priced above Rs 30,000.
