Xiaomi-backed Huami has launched a new smartwatch, called the Amazfit Stratos. The company has revealed that the new smartwatch has been honored with the Red Dot Award 2018 in Product Design. It is priced at $199.99 (Rs 13,000 approximately), and is currently available to buy in the US via amazfit.com.
As the name suggests, the Amazfit Stratos is an improvement to last year’s Amazfit Pace smartwatch. The new model gets a significant software update courtesy of Firstbeat Technologies and Zepp Labs. The GPS-enabled smartwatch is able to offer highly personalized metrics to users participating in over 12 different types of fitness activities. These include running, walking, cycling, swimming, elliptical machine, mountaineering, trail running, triathlon, tennis, soccer and skiing.
One of the metrics offered to users is VO2Max levels. This metric lets users see how effectively the body is utilizing oxygen to transform food into the energy required to keep moving. This helps one understand their body’s state, and get tailored training guidance.
Besides the fitness tracking capabilities, the smartwatch can also track your sleep patterns. Additionally, you will also get notifications for emails, text messages, calls and other app/messaging apps.
