Xolo has discreetly launched the Q1010i smartphone, which is the successor of the company’s previously launched Q1010 smartphone, and comes with a better camera sensor and a higher internal memory size. The smartphone is listed on the company’s website and is priced for Rs 13,499.
The Xolo Q1010i phone comes with a 5-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixels resolution and one glass solution technology. It offers a pixel density of 294ppi and has Asahi Scratch Resistant Glass to protect the display from scratches. Just like its predecessor, this one too is powered by MediaTek’s 6582 quad-core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz and comes with Mali 400M2 GPU, paired with 1GB of RAM. However, with 8GB of onboard storage, this phone has double the internal memory size than that seen on the Q1010.
Another difference between the two phones is that the 8-megapixel primary camera on the Q1010i sports Sony’s Exmor R sensor for low-light performance, and has a 5 element lens module with f/2.0 aperture. The previous model also featured an 8-megapixel camera but missed these features. The 2-megapixel front-facing, and 1080p video recording capabilities through the primary camera remain the same as were seen on the predecessor.
Rest of the features include support for microSD card, dual-SIMs with 3G network on one SIM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS/AGPS. It houses a 2,250mAh battery, which the company claims offers up to 19 hours of talk time and 732 hours of standby time. On the software front, the phone runs on the relatively old Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, however can be upgraded to 4.4 Kitkat later via OTG updates.
At this price, the Xolo Q1010i phone will be up against the likes of Micromax Canvas Magnus A117 which too comes with a 5-inch 720p display, however flaunts a 1.5GHz quad-core MT6589T processor, which has slightly better performance. Both the phones have 1GB of RAM, though the Q1010i gets an edge with an 8GB internal storage, while the Canvas Magnus A117 brings 4GB of onboard storage space.
Talking of the camera, the Canvas Magnus A117 comes with a higher 12-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, though it does not flaunt an additional camera technology like Sony’s Exmor R sensor found on the Q1010i. The 2-megapixel front-facing cameras on both the phones are the same. Other major difference is that while the Q1010i houses a 2,250mAh battery, the Micromax’s comes with a 2,000mAh battery. The Micromax Canvas Magnus A117 was launched for Rs 14,999, however has now got a price cut and is now available for Rs 13,990.
