xolo-q600s

Xolo has launched the Q600s, which was recently spotted online and is the company’s attack on other budget Android KitKat smartphones. The company says that though the phone is priced at Rs 8,499, it is available at a special introductory price of Rs 7,499 on Snapdeal till June 5.

The Q600s comes with a 4.5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) IPS display with one glass solution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Broadcom quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card.

On the photography front, it sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with BSI 2 senor and a VGA front facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Bluetooth and GPS.

Other features include a 2,000mAh battery which, as per the claims made by the company, provides standby time of up to 400 hours and talk time up to 11 hours. It has sensors like accelerometer, proximity and ambient light sensor.

Xolo Q600s runs on the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat version, though unlike Micromax and Motorola, Xolo has not guaranteed any software update for the phone.

With these specifications and at this price, the Q600s will be up against Motorola’s Moto E, Micromax’s Unite 2 and Lava’s Iris X1. Both the Unite 2 and the Moto E come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat with guaranteed software update and are priced at Rs 6,999. Specs-wise, the Unite 2 features a 4.7-inch WVGA display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Motorola’s Moto E, on the other hand, comes with a 4.3-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) display, is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 dual-core chipset paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It features a 5-megapixel rear camera, but misses out on a front camera. Other features include a 1,980mAh battery and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

As far as the specs of the Iris X1 are concerned, it comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS (854×480 pixels) display, is powered by Broadcom’s BCM23550 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and coupled with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, has an expandable memory using microSD card, and sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and LED flash and a BSI+ sensor and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity-wise, the phone comes with Dual-SIM support, 3G network support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and AGPS. This one too runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and is priced at Rs 7,999.
