When we talk about foldable smartphones, Samsung is among the first brands that come to our mind. However, even Samsung executives have said that they might only launch their foldable smartphone, the Galaxy X, sometime next year. But now it seems there could be a company that could beat Samsung to launch a foldable smartphone – ZTE.
A new ZTE device, under the codename Axon Multy has been spotted online with a sleek frame. Spotted by Android Authority, the leaked photo shows the semi-folded view of the alleged smartphone. Reports suggest that the unfolded screen would offer an unconventional aspect ratio of 1:1. The image shows the presence of two displays with a sort of hinge that connects them. While the smartphone is codenamed Axon Multy, reports hint that the smartphone might launch as Axon M in the US.
In terms of specifications, the smartphone is expected to feature a thickness of less than 10mm when folded. Under the hood, the smartphone is likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. Also on offer will be 32GB of internal storage. The Axon M is expected to be armed with a 3,120mAh battery. While the photography part is not very clear, the smartphone is speculated to feature a 20-megapixel camera. Apart from that, the phone will also come with a 3.5mm audio jack. ALSO READ: Xiaomi could soon launch a foldable smartphone, patent suggests
