HMD Global today introduced a range of new Nokia-branded Android smartphones in India. Announced first at the Mobile World Congress, the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco made their debut in India with prices starting at Rs 16,999 and going all the way up to Rs 49,999.
The new Nokia smartphones have been crafted with user experience in mind both in terms of hardware and software. The Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco are all Android One smartphones. The Android One program promises swift updates for a pure Android experience. Here’s a look at the key features of the new Nokia smartphones which launched today in India.
Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco top features
Nokia 6 (2018): It is an improvement over the predecessor in terms of design and camera. The new model has been crafted with series 6,000 aluminum unibody chassis.
Nokia 7 Plus: A variant of the Nokia 7 from last year, the Nokia 7 Plus has also been crafted out of the same single aluminum slab as other Nokia flagship smartphones.
Nokia 7 Plus: The company says the Nokia 7 Plus delivers ‘Large screen experience with a pocketable size.’ True to that, the display is 6-inch in size and yet it measures 7.99 mm thin.
Nokia 8 Sirocco: It is the most premium smartphone announced by HMD Global today. At Rs 49,999, the Nokia 8 Sirocco is ultra sleek and compact. It is built from a single piece of stainless steel and as HMD Global says, 95 percent of the surface area is all glass.
Nokia 8 Sirocco: The smartphone looks to counter high-end devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S9 and OnePlus 5T with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of default onboard storage.
With Android One OS, all the new smartphones get stock Android experience, support for AI technology, and the promise of swift updates to the latest version of OS.
Pricing: Nokia 6 (2018) is priced at Rs 16,999. Nokia 7 Plus is priced at Rs 25,999 while the Nokia 8 Sirocco costs Rs 49,999.
