Oppo launched its latest smartphone in India – the Oppo F7 – at a big event in Mumbai last month. The company revealed the new smartphone in two variants and three color options: solar red, moonlight silver and diamond black. The more affordable variant is the Rs 21,990 4GB RAM / 64GB storage option that is available in the red, silver and black color options, while the Rs 26,990 6GB RAM / 128GB storage variant is available in red and black.
Although the phone went on sale earlier this month, Oppo has announced that the Diamond Black variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is set to go on sale on April 21, priced at Rs 26,990. The device will be available for purchase both online through key retailers such as Flipkart and Amazon India, as well as through offline dealers associated with Oppo. While most of the specifications are the same, the key differences here are in the design and the storage.
The Oppo F7 Diamond Black 6GB / 128GB edition is pretty much the same phone as the earlier variant, with a different color, rear design and memory specifications.
The back of the device is a reflective shade of black, with a sharp-lined design that gives the impression of the rear of the phone being three-dimensional.
The rest of the back of the phone is similar to the other variants, with the fingerprint sensor and logo at the middle and single-camera setup in the corner.
The sides of the device are also black, but the plastic feel and texture is obvious.
The notch at the front of the phone is smaller than the one you see on the Apple iPhone X, and alsmost blends in with a dark-toned wallpaper such as this one.
The new edition of the Oppo F7 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, up from 4GB and 64GB on the base variant. Power users will find the increase particularly useful.
The phone looks decent, and will appeal to users who are looking for a bit of style from their smartphone. Apart from this, the Oppo F7 continues to be selfie-focused and adopts AI with the rear camera for depth-effect shots.
