Xiaomi Mi 6X launched today in China. The smartphone, to succeed the Mi A1 in markets outside its home country, adds to the 18:9 display range and boast dual cameras as one of its key features. The Mi 6X falls in the affordable category with prices starting at 1599 CNY, which translates to approximately Rs 17,000.
It will be exclusive to the Chinese market right now. However, we can expect it to be launched soon in India with the Mi A2 branding with stock Android OS. The Mi 6X is available in five color choices of Cherry Powder, Red Flame, Sand Gold, Glacier Blue and Black Stone. Here’s a look at the top features of the Xiaomi Mi 6X.
18:9 display: Akin to a lot of its counterparts, the Xiaomi Mi 6X also packs an edge-to-edge display. It is equipped with a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. As a result of the narrow bezels on the side, the fingerprint sensor is located at the back.
AI-enabled: One of the talking points of the smartphone is its dual-camera setup. It is equipped with a combination of 20-megapixel primary sensor with aperture f/1.75 and 12-megapixel secondary Sony IMX486 telephoto sensor with aperture f/1.75. The second sensor is capable of 2X lossless optical zoom and DSLR-like bokeh effects. The camera comes with AI capabilities that aid in intelligent scene detection.
Selfie camera: The second highlight of the Mi 6X is its selfie camera. It boasts a 20-megapixel front camera which comes with a dedicated flash. It also supports AI scene detection mode, which is optimized to detect 12 self-portrait scenes to help you capture good-looking selfies.
Hardware: The Mi 6X is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. A variant of the smartphone packs 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage.
No 3.5mm headphone jack: As more manufacturers are focusing on slimmer designs for their smartphones, the Mi 6X too ditches the conventional headphones port for a Type-C based one.
