Xiaomi launched its most affordable smartphone Redmi 5A today in India. It is in line with the company’s Make in India commitment and has been manufactured in the country. The price of the smartphone starts at Rs 5,999 and goes up to Rs 6,999. It will start selling from December 7. The Redmi 5A competes against the Nokia 2 and Moto C Plus in the affordable segment.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is available in two storage models. 2GB of RAM+16GB of storage is priced at Rs 5,999 and the 3GB RAM+32GB storage version costs Rs 6,999, making it one of the most affordable Android Nougat smartphones in the market.
The phone features small changes over the Redmi 4A. But now boasts a metallic polycarbonate finish.
