Microsoft’s latest (and apparently greatest) smartphone OS update – Windows Phone 7.5 Mango – is scheduled for a launch later this month in India. It is not yet clear when older Windows Phone smartphones running Windows Phone 7 will get their updates, we can confirm that some new smartphones are lined up to be introduced in India. The launch is expected to take place next week and we have been told to expect unexpected price for at least one of the smartphones. This will make India among the first few countries to get devices running on Mango, an irony considering Microsoft never officially launched Windows Phone 7 in India. Stay tuned for more updates.

    Why India ?

Well, cos Nokia is in the mix now…

They would want *some* visibility in the market before making the big splash with Nokia, for whom India is a very big smartphone market and they still maintain a good market share…

All brands need to understand the Indian market, price matters here more than HW and SW compatibility and Samsung is bit aware about it i guess.
Blackberry’s smartphones are overrated and overpriced as well,
Android OS base handsets are widely famous but they need to be cheaper than currently available.
Windows OS based phone are very limited for selection and still costly, they have to come down to be able to compete more directly with Android-based products.
Motorola is not launching it’s latest tech devices here in India unlike European market.
Nobody cares to hold iPhone as they think they can upgrade two devices in the same year if they go for another brand( with better specification ) instead of wasting money on iCrap.
India is one of the biggest market to trade numerous electronic products.
Advice to all users that they can buy a mid range smart phone plus a latest tablet instead of wasting money on high end smart phones which are more costlier than European market.
