After making a mark for itself in the value for money phone segment, Micromax has now introduced its push mail service in India. The Indian handset vendor has christened its push-email service ‘ezmail’ and allows instant access to emails. The company has also launched, rather appropriately, a phone that makes the most of this service, the Micromax Q80. This dual-SIM handset has a 2.4-inch QVGA display, an optical trackpad and a QWERTY keyboard. The phone is 3G ready, offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a built-in Yamaha amplifier, and comes with an in-built memory of 68 MB which is expandable up to 8GB with a microSD card. It features a rear 3.0 megapixel camera and a front-facing 0.3 megapixel camera for video calling and comes pre-loaded with a variety of apps like the Opera Mini browser, Bloomberg UTV, ngpay, Snaptu, Nimbuzz, Facebook and Newshunt. And in best Micromax tradition, the Q80 does not cost the earth – you can get it for Rs 4,999.

Today a Micromax Q7 in my hand & it’s very veery strong phone as compared to any. Before a year I had purchased Sony Ericssion W700i. I think, this (Micromax Q80 or Android A60) will be my future mobile.

    How rugged are Micromax mobiles?
    Do they undergo Ruggedization tests>
Any such standards to which they are compatible
like drop tests, vibration tests and water-jet tests etc.

    Would you detail them please?

PS. Do you make special cell-phones for the Armed-forces, for field use?

Can you compare this with A60? I am in a fix, whether to buy Q80 or A60.
Some more details about both and where they differ.
