Huawei has had quite a run in 2017, bringing out a series of chartbusters at various price points. Now with the launch of its flagship the Honor View 10, it seems the company was just getting started for what promises to an exciting year of great products. The Honor View 10 is not just the best phone in its price category…it is quite simply the best phone money can buy in 2018. It comes packed to the gills with the latest and greatest features that make it to the flagships of other phones.

So where do we start, how about with the three most talked about features on phones launched in 2017? That would be infinity screens…yes, the Honor View 10 comes with the hottest trend in displays. Its front screen boasts the same 18:9 screen ratio of other flagships. Then there is face recognition…yes the Honor View 10 has that as well. Artificial Intelligence too started makings its presence felt across a range of phones. Yes, the Honor View 10 has a heart of Artificial Intelligence that will learn your behavior and soon become an invaluable aid in your everyday life. So without further ado let’s dig deep into the many features of possibly the most desirable phone money can buy.

The View 10’s screen is an IPS panel, measuring 5.99 inches with an FHD+ (1080×2160) resolution. Viewing angles are good and the screen stays bright and visible even under direct sunlight. The fingerprint scanner below the display is quick to unlock the phone. The View 10 can also be unlocked using face recognition. The phone is powered by a Huawei Kirin 970 octa-core processor, with four cores clocked at 2.36GHz and the other four clocked at 1.8GHz. The Kirin 970 has a dedicated Neural Network Processing Unit which handles Artificial Intelligence functions. The phone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is expandable by up to 256GB using a microSD card in the hybrid dual-SIM tray.

The Honor View 10 supports 4G as well as VoLTE connectivity on both SIMs. The View 10’s dual rear cameras consist of one 16-megapixel RGB sensor and one 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. At the front, there is a 13-megapixel selfie shooter that is also used for the Face Unlock feature. In terms of connectivity, the View 10 supports Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, and USB-OTG. For positioning, it has GPS, APS, GLONASS, and BDS.

The View 10 comes with EMUI 8, which runs on top of Android Oreo. The UI layer comes with theme support, smart gestures (that help you interact with the phone), knuckle gestures (let you double-knock with one finger to take a screenshot, or two fingers to begin screen recording) and you can launch apps by tracing letters on the screen.

Comparison

We were not kidding when we said the Honor View 10 is possibly the best phone money can buy in any category. It more than holds its own against such flagship phones as the iPhone X, One Plus 5T, and the Google Pixel 2XL.

In terms of camera, the Honor View 10 comes with one of the most powerful sets of sensors at the back and front. Same is the case with the battery. The Honor View 10 packs in a much more powerful battery than anyone else. The powerful battery combined with the exclusive power saving options that Honor bundles in with its phone, make it capable of lasting more than a day even with reasonably extensive usage. That is not something that can be said for any of the other phones here.In fact despite being close to a third cheaper than the iPhone X and much lower priced than the Google Pixel 2XL and the One Plus 5T the View 10 either equals or surpasses them on hardware specs. All the phones come with full HD+ front screens with 18:9 ratios, as does the View 10. It has some kind of processing power and RAM as the others in the list but it is the only phone that gives you the ability to increase storage up to 256GB via a microSD card. None of the other phones have that option, which is a pity as phone memory is one thing that gets eaten up in a hurry.

Conclusion

The Honor View 10 is truly a phone deserving its title of the flagship of the Honor range. It holds its own in any company phone in terms of its looks, features, power, and ability. In terms of price, of course, it simply blows the competition out of the market. There is quite simply nothing remotely close to this phone for this price. In fact, what competition?
