LG officially announced the long rumored LG Optimus Big on Friday, making it the Korean firm’s largest Android smartphone to date. The Optimus Big runs Android 2.2, sports a 4.3-inch Nova Display, and is equipped with an HDMI-out port, a 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and a 1,500 mAh battery. A recent report indicates that the unreleased Samsung Galaxy S II is getting a processor upgrade. Blog GSMArena states that the company will upgrade the 1 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor to run at a blistering 1.2GHz. The site points to a slip on Samsung’s Estonian Facebook page — which mentioned the upgrade — and cites an “internal source” as its information sources.
