The thought of Apple launching a smaller iPad is fast transforming from late Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ nightmare to a widely accepted product that the iPad maker is working upon. Today NYT became the latest to claim the existence of an iPad mini, citing industry sources as well as an engineer who had worked on the prototype of a smaller iPad even before Apple had launched the iPad in 2010. Apple is preparing to launch a smaller iPad in October to take on tablets like Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Google’s Nexus 7, Bloomberg reports.
