Airtel today announced it has launched its 4G LTE services in Bengaluru, which becomes the second city in the country after Kolkata to get a 4G network. Apart from the plans already announced in Kolkata, Airtel today announced a new plan that will offer users 30GB of data for Rs 2,999 a month. Users of both Rs 1,999 plan (18GB) and Rs 2,999 will get a cash back offer when they purchase either the multi-mode LTE modem (Rs 7,999) or the indoor CPE with Wi-Fi module (Rs 7,750). (more…)Google+

Bharti Airtel had deployed ZTE to supply and manage its 4G LTE network in Kolkata last month. However, this time around, the carrier has appointed Huawei to set up its 4G network in the state of Karnataka. Under this agreement, Huawei will deliver the LTE solutions comprising of network infrastructure and devices. Airtel is launching its 4G LTE network in Kolkata tomorrow, but its website has already gone live, revealing tariffs and devices. Airtel is promising download speeds up to 100 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 40 Mbps, both of which would be theoretical peak speeds and not exactly what users will get.
