RIM extends Built for BlackBerry deadline

RIM renames App store to BlackBerry World, adds multimedia content

As RIM closes in on the launch date for the BlackBerry 10 smartphone and OS, it has made a small change which could go a long way in making its app store more popular. RIM has removed the word ‘app’ from its store and it’s now known as BlackBerry World reports TechCrunch. More than one million mobile applications are now available across the top-four mobile platforms according to analytics company Mobilewalla. Facebook is set to launch its own iPhone photo-sharing service that will compete with the likes of Instagram and Path.
