RIM has announced in the lead up to the BlackBerry 10 launch in January that it has completed the software developer kit (SDK) and it has it hit the gold stage. The SDK includes tools for developers using C/C++ languages for creating UI based on BlackBerry 10 cascades, HTML 5 tools for creating web based apps based on WebWorks. RIM has released BlackBerry 10 SDK Beta 3 which finally reveals the true nature of the new BB10 UI. Along with this new SDK RIM also released a new device only meant for developers called the Dev Alpha B. Actually, RIM claims this device was born out of necessity as it ran out of the original Dev Alpha. This new device shares more or less the same specs with its predecessor, but its screen has a different resolution of 1280×720 pixels. (more…)Google+

Back in May RIM showcased a very promising alpha build of BlackBerry 10, which flaunted a very interesting cascading UI, some camera tricks courtesy Scalado and impressive touch keyboard chop which it has now even patented. Now, RIM has released the latest BlackBerry 10 Beta SDK and it will be bring some interesting new capabilities to the BlackBerry Dev Alpha devices distributed to application developers at BlackBerry World, but the big deal here is that the SDK will go gold in November.
