The highly anticipated follow up to Samsung’s Galaxy S II will not be unveiled at next month’s Mobile World Congress, according to The Verge. The Galaxy S III was rumored to be debuting in Barcelona next month, however it has reportedly now been delayed. The reason for delay was not disclosed, although it is still slated to be released “before summer” according to the report. The Galaxy S II was announced at last year’s Mobile Wold Congress, but Samsung is said to have been un...

BGR has learned from a trusted source that Samsung is set to launch an 11.6-inch tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich next year, and it will most likely be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February. Even though the tablet features a larger display than Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1, we’re told that the tablet is “barely larger” due to the fact the slate will have a thinner bezel with a whopping 2560 x 1600 resolution, 11.6-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The tablet will...

Samsung has released two teaser videos that promise “something big” is coming during the IFA trade show in Berlin, which kicks off on September 1st. The videos are vague: one shows scenes by an ocean and the second has a number of people walking around with glowing objects in their hands. It is possible the clips are hinting at Samsung’s rumored Android Honeycomb Galaxy Tab device, which packs a 7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1024 x 600-pixel resolution, a 3-megapixel camera and a 2-megap...

After multiple delays (it was originally planned for a mid-June launch), Samsung will finally take the wraps off its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in India on August 10, multiple sources have confirmed. Boasting a 10.1-inch display, the new Tab runs on Android Honeycomb (we’d like to believe it to be Android 3.1), an nVIDIA Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1GHz, 1GB of RAM with 16/32/64 GB variants for internal storage and dual cameras (3.0MP on the rear and 2.0 MP on the front). The Tab 10.1 is marginally slimmer than t...

Samsung on Monday announced that it will finally begin rolling out Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) to its popular Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab devices. Samsung had started to roll out Gingerbread last month, but was forced to halt the update due to a bug identified shortly after it was released. Samsung has apparently addressed the issue, and the update will release the update once again this month beginning in the UK and other European countries. The Android update, which will require users to connect their devices t...

In case you haven’t heard, Android is kind of a big deal. Some research firms say it’s already the world’s top smartphone operating system, having recently passed Symbian’s quarterly sales pace for the first time, and just about every firm on the planet is predicting that Android’s market share will continue to grow for the foreseeable future. And it’s not just hot air — Google on Thursday during its first-quarter earnings call revealed that daily Android activations ha...

When we sat down with Samsung yesterday to check out the new Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the improved and thinner Galaxy Tab 10, we were alerted that its TouchWiz UX user interface is the first custom UI on top of Android 3.0 Honeycomb. While it won’t ship on any of the Galaxy Tab family of tablets right away, Samsung does plan to issue an update that applies TouchWiz UX down the road a bit — in fact the new UI should wind up on all of the Galaxy Tab tablets in the near future. Samsung’s UI adds a bunch ...

Samsung wasn’t exactly coy about its plans to launch an 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab during CTIA this week, and that’s exactly what it just did. On Tuesday Samsung took the wraps off of the Galaxy Tab 8.9, its third Android-powered tablet. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb, and features a mini-apps drawer for quickly launching your favorite applications. A future update will also bring Samsung’s custom UI to the slate. As its name implies, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has an 8.9-inch screen with a ...

We met up with Samsung during the CTIA Wireless trade show in Orlando to get up close and personal with the Galaxy Tab 8.9, Samsung’s new Android tablet that fills the space between its current 10-inch and 7-inch models. We certainly think Samsung hit the sweet spot with this one. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is just 8.6mm thick, and it felt amazing — it’s much more sleek in the hand than the original chunkier 7-inch Galaxy Tab. Under its hood, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 has a 1GHz dual-core processor just like t...

Less than a week after Apple cut prices of the iPad in India, we are hearing from our sources on the street that Samsung will further lower the price of its Galaxy Tab to Rs 24,900. This will be the second price cut from Samsung in less than two months. The Galaxy Tab, which was launched at upwards of Rs 35,000 received its first price cut a couple of days before Apple launched the iPad in India. At the moment, the Tab is selling at Rs 29,000. Unfortunately, those who bought the Tab recently will not get any...

Less than a week after it announced that the price of the original iPad would be slashed from $499 (for the 16GB, Wi-Fi only version) to $399, Apple has cut the prices of the iPad in India. This is significant because the tablet hit the country officially barely a month ago. While previously the iPad’s pricing in India had started from Rs 27,990, it now has come down to Rs 24,500, a fall of about 12.47%, bringing it well below the Rs 25,000 barrier and actually bang into high-end smartphone and netboo...
