While HTC is yet to announce the Endeavor (One X) and the Ville (One S) smartphones at the MWC but it looks like someone else has already gotten tender of this duo and has reportedly opened the pre-booking process. The eagle eyes at Phandroid have spotted Italian online retailer Marcopoloshop displaying tech specs, product images and is selling these devices at price tags of 599 Euros (around Rs 40,000) for the One S, and 699 Euros (Rs 46,000) for the One X. Though the tech specs mentioned on the retailer’s website are almost similar to what we have been expecting, it is displaying them under HTC codenames of Endeavor and Ville. It is most likely to be the case of pre-empting HTC’s moves than actual confirmation.

HTC is hosting a press conference on the eve of Mobile World Congress (Sunday, February 26) and it has just put out a teaser on its Facebook page. The image, accompanied by a hint – “this Sunday you will discover something fast.” The ’5′ could refer to the number of days left for the press conference or probably even the One V, which is rumored to be the next generation Rhyme but aimed at men. The top-of-the-line HTC smartphone, the One X, however, is more likely to be the “something fast” hinted here as it is expected to feature a quad-core processor, possibly NVIDIA’s Tegra 3. It was earlier leaked as the Endeavor and Edge before that. The One S is expected to be the Ville, which was again leaked earlier.

Apart from smartphones, HTC is also expected to launch a quad-core tablet. It is also speculated to unveil a music streaming service and probably even a deal with Sony to get its PlayStation certified games on HTC devices.

Things are just heating up as MWC inches closer. Fasten your seat belts fellas,  as this is going to be one twisty roller coaster ride. Of course, we will be covering the event in real-time so stay tuned.

HTC is all set to debut its first quad-core smartphone – the HTC One X at the MWC in a few days, according to a report published by PocketNow. The HTC One X is nothing but the earlier leaked HTC Edge which was then renamed as the HTC Endeavor. Also the dual-core HTC Ville will be unveiled as the HTC One S. The names of these smartphones are subject to change at the time of their launch in different markets but the branding will possibly remain the same as ‘One’. Just like the previous reports, the HTC One X will feature a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, an 8.0MP camera and an optically laminated 4.7-inch HD display. It will flaunt a unibody design and should hit the shelves around spring.

Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich has done a fantastic job of revamping the stock Android UI. Suffice to say that it has garnered loads of critical acclaim, but that does not stop hardware OEMs from creating their own custom Android skins. HTC for long provided its Sense UI for its Android devices, and now it’s working on a new version of Sense optimized for the latest version of Android. The folks at Android Central took a closer look at the latest version of Sense and have posted a few screenshots of the UI which they received through a leaked ROM of the HTC Endeavor. At a glance it is definitely reminiscent of Sense 3.5, but there are few key difference. Firstly, the stock Ice Cream Sandwich lock screen is no where to be seen, instead we get the Sense lock ring, but this time around in different colors, and different designs. Secondly, the leap preview has been totally redesigned with a card like view. Another new thing that I have noticed is the presence of a more traditional dock, apart from having new widgets.

Previously we had seen a video of the HTC Sense interface on the HTC Ville, and I must admit that the interface is very similar to what we have seen on the Endeavor. Admittedly I would still prefer the stock ICS launcher, but I must say that the new version of Sense looks quite intriguing. In all probability, we will get the taste of the Sense UI soon enough as it should be launched at MWC later this month.
