Chrome Beta on Android ICS updated, now available in India

Google has discreetly issued an update for the beta version of Chrome on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Notably, this update now makes Chrome officially available in India via the Android Market. While, the update itself is not a major release, it does offer better page load times, better rending of fonts thanks to full Typekit support, and better overall stability. Previously Chrome for Android was released to much fanfare, though its adoption rate has not been substantial in due part because of its restricted compatibility with previous versions of Android. Hopefully, this should change post MWC as a number of Android 4.0 devices are expected to be released. More →

Acer shows off Tegra 3 powered Iconia A700 tablet

Last week the boys from The Verge had filled a story on a mystery Acer Tablet and now Acer has finally shown off the device. The device called the A700 is a powerhouse of an Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet boasting of Nvidia’s latest Tegra 3 Quad-core processor, a Full HD 1920x1280 display, microSD support and a HDMI port. While the device features Ice Cream Sandwich, it does offer a skinned ICS experience, the notable customisation being Acer’s circular Ring launcher. At 9.3mm it is not the thinnest tablet on the market but from the looks of it does not appear to be overly bulky. So far Acer has not divulged any information regarding launch and price but we are sure once CES kicks off later in the day, we will have more information in relation to the device, so stay tuned!
