Indian carrier Idea Cellular has launched two Android smartphones – the Idea Blade and the Idea ID 280. The operator is not manufacturing these devices itself as the former model is a re-branded ZTE Blade and the latter is a Huawei Ideos X1. Both the models are based on the Android 2.2 OS aka Froyo and are priced decently at Rs 5,850 and Rs 7,992, respectively. While the Idea Blade features a 3.5-inch capacitive touch display and runs on a 600MHz processor, the Idea ID 280 has a relatively smaller screen size – a 2.8-inch capacitive display and is powered by 528MHz processor. Other tech specs include a 3.2 MP camera, connectivity features such as WiFi and Bluetooth. The smartphones come with an in-built memory of 150 MB which is extensible up to 32GB and a few SNS apps such Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, YouTube, Opera Mini browse and Idea TV also come pre-embedded. As a special introductory offer, Idea 3G subscribers will get data services worth Rs 3,500 free on purchase of these smartphones. Idea users just need to buy a special Rs 259 pack to avail this special offer.
