Rumors, speculations and everything in between for the upcoming iPhone 5S are flying thick and fast after its first reported sighting in developer logs. LG Electronics today announced its next flagship smartphone will incorporate the latest cutting-edge technology from its other vertically integrated sister companies – LG Chem, LG Display and LG Innotek. This is the same smartphone that both LG and Qualcomm have been teasing this past week and LG today confirmed it will be the first smartphone to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor. LG Display has confirmed to the Wall Street Journal that it has begun mass producing in-cell displays. Its CEO Han-Sang-Beom told the Journal that inspite of production issues because of the complexity of the technology his company had started production in August. (more…)Google+

Rumors regarding the iPhone 5 are gaining steam as Apple’s latest generation smartphone allegedly hits assembly lines to be ready by the millions when it is eventually announced later this fall. The latest tidbit comes from WSJ, which claims Apple would use a brand new display technology to ensure the iPhone 5 is thin and light despite its increased footprint with a bigger 4-inch display.
