Apple is all set the iPad mini in India in coming weeks. Multiple sources have confirmed to BGR India that distributors are expecting iPad mini stocks to be available any day now and will be ready to be shipped to retailers by the end of next week. Apple today officially unveiled the iPad mini with a 7.9-inch 1024×768 pixel display, which is the same resolution as the iPad 2. Starting from $329 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model and $459 for the 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular (3G and LTE) variant with $100 increments for more storage. Apple claims that the iPad mini is small enough to be operable with one hand and weighs 308 grams. It also claims that the iPad mini offers 35 percent greater display surface area than the Nexus 7. After last week’s reports of the iPad mini going into production in Apple’s Asian manufacturing partner facilities, today the WSJ is reporting that Apple has placed orders for 10 million units of the smaller iPad for the fourth quarter alone. If true, Apple is expecting massive Holiday season demand for the iPad mini, which is expected to have a 7.85-inch display and should be priced under $350. Apple is preparing to launch a smaller iPad in October to take on tablets like Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Google’s Nexus 7, Bloomberg reports.
