Mozilla Firefox 21 released, adds social API on desktop and open source fonts on Android

Mozilla has launched the new version of its open source browser Firefox for the desktop platforms including Mac, Windows and Linux, as well as the Firefox browser for Android. The all new Firefox 21.0 comes with feature and performance improvements along with a set of new options, with the major one being additional support for Mozilla Social’s API, which will now expand social integration from Facebook to Cliqz, Mixi and msnNOW. Wine (WINdows Emulator or Wine Is Not an Emulator), the emulator best-known to run Windows programs on open-source desktop OS is now coming to Android, reports Phoronix.com. In a presentation at the Free and Open source Software Developers’ European Meeting (FOSDEM) 2013 in Brussels, Wine creator Alexandre Julliard showed a brief demo of Wine running on Android. Let’s get this out straight. MeeGo was a very promising platform and when Nokia chose to abandon it after the N9, it was kind of heartbreaking. Now NetBooksNews is reporting that Nokia might be planning two new MeeGo devices for the low-end of the market as a part of its ‘Next Billion’ program. A new updated version of Tizen’s source code and SDK has been released and Samsung has done the honors of announcing this news.
